Several years ago, in travelling over 10,000 miles across the US, I ended up in the Southwest. I was fascinated - even overwhelmed - by the audacity of colors and shadows as the day wore on. Some might perceive it as monotone but it was anything but that. I cared not for representing the physical objects - but capturing the richness of colors and variations therein and letting them speak for themselves.
